The Dreaming Sofa - Melbourne Lockdown
Role: Editor;
Made by: Projector; After Effect; Premiere Pro;
Year: 2020;
Info:
A visual response to the COVID-19 Melbourne Lockdown. Our team used projection mapping to express how people miss daily life during the lockdown time.
I was appreciated as an editor in the team to cut the scenes during the pandemic time in Melbourne. Although the time is harsh for everybody, it is a unique,  special and unforgettable experience for everyone in the 21st century, especially for the young generation.

My part:
My section is the background video, which is a series of lockdown footage, going through the stores closing, protesting, curfew, and Daniel Andrews's daily presentation on TV.
I used the glitch and VHS effect to make the series look immersive, which expresses the broken life we have been through during the pandemic.
Concept:
During the pandemic, Melbourne went through 6 times of lockdowns. The pre-Covid daily life is literary like a dream at that time. Thus, the team wanted to stand in a dream viewport, and many things we missed flew through our minds during our sleep.
We use the home projector to achieve the effect. The collage animation is projected on the wall to represent the dream. And when we wake up, it back to the cruel reality, which to play the daily Covid News again.
